OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Two Oak Ridge businesses were packed with people today, thanks to the city's second "cash mob."

Mickey's Produce and J&M Butcher in the Jefferson Shopping Center were "mobbed" with shoppers.

The shopping blitz was sponsored by the Young Professionals of Oak Ridge.

The group says the goal is to encourage people to go into small, local stores and spend their cash to stimulate their business.

The owners and shoppers that took part in today's mob say it's a great idea.

"It's going really good. We're really glad for the young people that helps us put it on. It's really nice and we have a lot of people coming in," said Aline Russell from Mickey's Produce.

"I support every local business I can in Oak Ridge, every time I can. If we don't support them, we're not going to keep them," said Corrine Finch, a shopper J&M Butcher.

The cash mob ran from 10:00 this morning until 2:00 in the afternoon.

But, both businesses say they were busy all day.
