KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A crash involving several vehicles snarled traffic on I-40 East near West Hills Friday evening.
It started just after 6:30 p.m. when a wheel came loose from one vehicle and rolled into the side of another. The car with three wheels came to a stop. No one was injured.
As officers were headed to clear the roadway, another vehicle smashed into the stalled car. That caused a chain reaction involving four different vehicles which crashed one after the other.
Knoxville firefighters extricated two people from their vehicles. A total of three people were transported to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
