Funeral arrangements are set for Charlotte Mull .
The host of the long running Mull's Singing Convention, passed away earlier this week. Her family tells Local 8 News they will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 30 at Rose Mann's Heritage Chapel on Kingston Pike. A funeral will follow.
A private burial will be held Wednesday morning in Lenoir City.
The Mulls Singing Convention TV show seen on MyVLT has withstood the test of time, spanning different generations of viewers. Sadly, it's host, Charlotte Mull, passed away. This morning we pay tribute to her, the family and the show that's been a part of East Tennessee for almost 60 years.
They've been bringing southern gospel music into homes all across the region for years. Reverend J. Bazzell Mull and wife, Elizabeth, known to viewers as Lady Mull. Sadly, the reverend and wife passed away. But the music never died. Daughter Charlotte took up the task and continued the tradition to this day.
In fact, this August celebrates their 57th anniversary. The longest running locally produced show in America. Tuesday, time and ill health took it's toll.
At 67, Charlotte passed away quietly at home. A shock to so many, including co-host Gail Shelby, "She was a fun, loving,special individual once she loved you, and was your friend. She was your friend. And a very special lady and loved the fact she was able to carry on the legacy of the Mull family."
Shelby also added, "She loved her mother and daddy very much and missed them. Now she's with them."
Now, they're all singing harmony with the angels.
