Child attacked by pit bull in Whitley County, Ky neighborhood

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WVLT/WKYT/WYMT) -- An investigation is underway into a dog attack that injured a Whitley County girl.

Williamsburg Police say a 12-year-old girl was playing outside Friday, when a neighbor's pit bull attacked her.

They say the girl had severe lacerations to her leg, and was taken to the hospital.

Police cited the dog's owner, Amanda Walker, with harboring a vicious animal.

Police say the dog was running loose at the time of the attack. The dog has since been quarantined.
