ROANE CO. (WVLT)-- Three children have been airlifted to the hospital after officials say they fell into a frozen lake Saturday afternoon.
It happened in the Lakeside Estates neighborhood of Roane County.
Officials have confirmed two of the children are 12-years old and one is 10-years old. They fell into Watts Bar Lake on Swan Pond Road in the early afternoon.
The Roane Count Rescue squad says the boys were walking across the lake to get to a buoy, when they got to it, the ice caved in.
Officials say the boys held onto the buoy for about an hour until help arrived.
The third child was rescued around 1 p.m., according to Roane County EMA's Scott Stout.
Stout believes all three have been hospitalized.
