KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - It's back to school time, and one area church is reaching out to families who need a little help with school supplies.
The Freedom House Church of God in Knoxville kicked off it's third annual "Grateful Heart Mobile Ministry today.
More than 200 parents and kids gathered after Sunday's service to take a bag of supplies, a pair of shoes, and even clothes and toys.
The church has 500 bags of supplies to give, and hopes to collect 1,000 pairs of shoes.
"Our workers gathered Wednesday night and put them altogether and repacked them again this morning so we're all ready and set," said John Unthank, the associate pastor of the church.
The giveaway continues Monday and Tuesday from 9:00-6:00. Free haircuts will be available on Monday as well.
