TAZEWELL, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Claiborne County woman is in some serious trouble with the law after giving birth to her child in a hospital parking lot.
Jessica Miracle and her boyfriend went to the emergency room at Claiborne County Hospital on Monday. The doctor told her she needed to go to UT Medical Center, saying if she didn't her baby could die.
But Miracle didn't want to go to UT, and according to the police report, signed herself out of the hospital. She ended up giving birth in the parking lot. She went back into the hospital but her newborn son later died.
Miracle is charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect. The judge set her bond at $50,000. She's due in court September 27th.
