Coaching or online help; comparison tried

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- School teachers in Memphis are working in two comparative projects to improve their classroom effectiveness.

As part of a grant to the Memphis City Schools, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is trying to determine which model will be more useful.

One group of teachers is receiving eight rounds of one-on-one coaching from education consultants. Another groups gets around the clock help online.

The research will continue for two years and the results will be released in 2014.

Fourth-grade teacher Ikeysha Hall told The Commercial Appeal the instant feedback in the coaching sessions is the best professional development help she has ever had
