Knox County Commissioner Mike Hammond (R-5th)
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knox Co. Commissioner Mike Hammond is tossing that razor in the trash for the rest of month to help raise money for the kids at St. Jude.
Hammond will forgo his clean cut look as part of "No Shave November," a benefit started by Nashville music executives.
"My friends on music row asked me to join them in this fund raising effort and without hesitation, I agreed," recounted Hammond. "I have been involved with fundraising for St. Jude's for almost 30 years and I can think of no better organization to help."
He is also encouraging supporters to visit the St. Jude website where they can donate to the hospital by clicking the No Shave November link.
"I will be posting pictures showing my progress on my personal Facebook," said Hammond. "I hope persons will consider donating any amount to help the kids at St. Jude's."
