Coroner confirms identity of remains found in Corbin storage unit



CORBIN, Ky. (WKYT) -- The Whitley County Coroner has released the identity of the remains found in a Corbin storage unit.

According to a release from the Whitley County coroner, the remains were identified by using the National Missing and Unidentified Person System, known as NamUs.

The records revealed that the remains belonged to Doris Anne Wood. Mrs. Wood has been missing from Delaware since 1997.

According to the coroner's office, state officials worked with NamUs staff to confirm the findings.

The remains were discovered on October 3rd when Stephen Terry was searching through a storage unit he had recently bought in an auction on Highway 25 in Corbin.

The cause and manner of death still remain under investigation.
