CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- A Hamilton County couple has been found not guilty in the accidental shooting death of their 2-year-old daughter.
According to WRCB-TV, a jury came back with that verdict on Wednesday.
Samantha and Thomas Wallace were being tried on charges of criminally negligent homicide in the July 2010 death of Camron Wallace.
Investigators said the child died when her 5-year-old stepbrother accidentally shot her in the chest with a pistol he took from a drawer of a nightstand in the parents' bedroom.
Defense attorneys told jurors that just days before Camron's death, a group of men knocked on the couple's front door at 2 a.m., and there had been reports of home invasions in the neighborhood.
