NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say firefighters are battling a fire at a plant in McEwen that makes explosives and rescuers are responding to possible injuries.
A dispatcher with Humphreys County said two or three people may have been injured at Accurate Energetic Systems on Wednesday afternoon, but she did not know the extent of the injuries.
The dispatcher said the plant is located on the border between Hickman and Humphreys counties and workers from both counties were battling the blaze. She said firefighters reported that the blaze at the plant was extinguished but they were putting out a brush fire that resulted from the fire at AES.
Victims were not identified and the cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
AES makes explosives for the military and commercial companies.
