Crimetracker: Maryville man accused of impersonating a lawyer

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Investigators are searching for victims after a Maryville man was charged with impersonating a licensed professional, criminal simulation, and two counts of theft of property following an apparent illegal racket in which he was impersonating an attorney.

Kevin Scott Thibault, 47, is being held without bond for violating his parole out of Hamilton County. He is scheduled to appear in Blount County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m. March 8th.

Because of the sensitivity of the Sheriff’s Office case against Thibault, specific information regarding the case cannot be released at this time. The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying additional people that Thibault may have victimized.

Possible victims in which Thibault has presented himself as being a legal professional, or individuals who have paid Thibault money in return for legal services, is asked to call the Blount County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division during normal business hours at (865)273-5001.
