KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox County Sheriff's Office says its deputies were led on a chase Sunday around 4:30 PM.
Deputies say it started when Gregory Grayson and Mary Jane Crane were pulled over for going 38 in a 30 MPH zone on Highland View Road, near Chapman Highway.
When they approached the car, authorities say they could smell alcohol and say Grayson had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.
After giving fake names and being asked to step out of their vehicle, Grayson and Crane drove off.
They were chased to Bays Mountain Road, where they tried to run before Grayson was tased and arrested. Crane was arrested shortly after.
Deputies say Grayson admitted to drinking two alcoholic beverages before driving.
A deputy and Grayson were treated for minor injuries.
