Crimetracker: Church responds to former pastor's arrest

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A former Gatlinburg pastor turned himself into police Thursday and was booked into the Sevier County jail.

Ronald Lukat is accused of misusing a credit card belonging to Gatlinburg Presbyterian Church. The congregation says he spent $3600 on himself.

The charges put the church in so much debt, it had to close the daycare.
Church members say they still have a long way to go to pay off that bill.

The church released a statement today. You can watch it above.
