A LOCAL 8 WEATHER ALERT is posted Monday - Wednesday due to significant rainfall amounts expected to accumulate. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch until Wednesday at 7am. We expect 2-4 inches of rain that could lead to some localized flooding in areas prone to flooding. This event will also create a slow commute to and from work Monday and Tuesday, and then again on Wednesday morning.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A hit-and-run left one man injured Sunday evening.
It happened near the intersection of Clinton Highway and Treemont just before 6:30 p.m.
According to KPD, Elbert Sayers of Powell was driving a motorcycle when he was struck following a possible incident of road rage.
Police believe that the truck crashed the motorcycle intentionally and then fled the scene.
Witnesses gave conflicting descriptions of the suspect vehcile but the driver of the motorcycle described it as a 4 door Nissan Titan pickup that was silver in color. It was being driven by a white male in his 40's or 50's with sandy brown hair.
Sayers was transported to UT Medical Center. He's in stable condition.
