Crimetracker: Kids flag down police near Market Square after shooting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Police Dept. is investigating an overnight shooting Thursday morning that sent one man to the hospital. Police found Robert Goldshot was found in Market Square shortly after midnight and taken to UT Medical Center with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

Police learned of the shooting after several kids flagged down officers around 12:40 a.m. Witnesses told investigators the shooting happened at Tyson Park during a confrontation with several other men. The witnesses, who were all minors, were taken to KPD's Safety Building for additional interviews.

Investigators did not release any other information because of the ongoing investigation.
