KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Blount County man, who has been charged in connection with a bear baiting scheme, has been arrested for shooting at a trophy white tail buck.
A TWRA officer says he watched Christopher Caughron, 23, shoot at a prize white tail buck just off Pellissippi Parkway on Monday.
A release says the officer then chased Caughron until he gave up at Northshore and Ebeneezer Drive.
Caughron has been charged with Felony Evading Arrest, Felony Reckless Endangerment, Hunting on Revoked Privileges, Hunting From a Motor Vehicle, and Hunting From A Public Road.
A passenger in Caughron's vehicle has not been charged.
This is not the first time Caughron has been in trouble with wildlife officials.
Back in September, Caughron was one of five men arrested for illegally baiting bear.
In that case, a 400 lb. black bear was killed before the season's opening.
If convicted in that case, Caughron could lose his hunting privileges in Tennessee for ten years.
