KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Knoxville Police and FBI are searching for a man who robbed the ORNL Federal Credit Union Saturday.
It happened at the location on 5505 Kingston Pike just after 11 a.m.
Authorities said the suspect threatened that he had a bomb, displayed a note and demanded money.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white male in his mid-twenties, approximately 5’7” to 5’9” tall, weighing approximately 150 to 160 pounds with a slender build, dirty blond hair, and having unkempt, unshaven facial hair.
The suspect was wearing a black tee shirt, black shorts, and a camouflage baseball-style hat.
After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the scene, leaving behind a package. The KPD Explosive Ordinance Disposal team responded and determined the package was a hoax device.
A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest of this individual.
