Crimetracker: Morristown police looking for armed robber

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Morristown Police Department is looking for an armed robber who held up two stores Friday afternoon.

According to police, a tall, slender, white male wearing a ski mask, black and white checked jacket, jeans, and a grey hoodie robbed Stephanie's Ultimate Tanning at 1834 Buffalo Trail at approximately 4:30 p.m.

A man matching the same description then robbed Check into Cash located at 1629 East Andrew Johnson Highway at approximately 6:00 p.m. The suspect brandished a small handgun and forced store employees into a back room before leaving the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is further described as approximately 6 feet tall with dark eyes and freckles which could be seen under his eyes through the mask. Investigators are reviewing store surveillance footage looking for clues.
