LOCAL 8 WEATHER ALERT: Slick roads are possible, after an icy mix of freezing rain, sleet, and some snow lingers under foot. Patches of black ice are also possible, so give yourself some extra driving time.
MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A man was taken into custody Monday evening for reportedly cooking meth inside an SUV.
Authorities made the discovery on the 600 block of Wright Rd.
Neighbor Randall Quiett told Local 8 News he called police after noticing what was going on next door.
"They found this meth lab about 20 feet from my children's beds," Quiett said. "That's why I called."
A man was decontaminated on scene before he was taken into custody. Charges are pending.
According to neighbors on scene, the man was staying at the Wright Rd. home with his wife and three children. A woman who claimed to be the homeowner's mother told Local 8 News her daughter wanted to help. Instead, found herself in the middle of the bust.
Quiett hopes this discourages others in the area to engage in illegal activity.
"I just need peace of mind for my kids and family," Quiett said.
This is the third meth-related drug bust in Blount County Monday.
