A Local 8 Weather Alert has been issued for today. Because of the threat of rain, thunder and even hail, outdoor activities may be disrupted or inconvenienced. What's going on? An upper-level low will be moving across East Tennessee today, creating a more unstable atmosphere.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Police Dept. is trying to locate the person who grabbed a victim's purse and took off running as the victim was walking out of a north Knoxville convenience store late Monday night.
According to police, the victim had just left the Weigel's on Cedar Lane when the suspect pulled the purse from her arm and started running. Several witnesses tried chasing the suspected robber, but weren't able to catch up.
Officers are continuing to investigate and expect to release more information as it becomes available.
