Crimetracker: Police searching for van that ran down homeless pedestrian

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville Police are searching for the person who ran down a homeless pedestrian who was standing on the shoulder of the road in East Knoxville late Wednesday night.

According to police, the blue van struck 55 year-old Kerry Kidd around 11:00 p.m. on E. Magnolia Ave. near N. Castle Street. Police said she was standing alongside the road and not using the provided sidewalks.

The driver did not leave any information nor did she offered any help. Police said they are treating the incident as a hit and run.

Kidd was taken to UT Medical Center and is in stable condition, officials said.
