Crimetracker: Sweetwater man sentenced for possessing child porn

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Sweetwater man has been sentenced to 151 months in prison for possessing child pornography.

Steven Marshall Fout, 24, pleaded guilty in June 2013 to federal charges of knowingly distributing and possessing child pornography.

After he's released from prison, Fout must also serve 30 years of supervised probation.

He was also ordered to pay $2,500 in restitution to victims whose digital images were found on in his possession.

Fout must also register as a sex offender.

Federal prosecutors say Fout's case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
