CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Crossville Police are searching for two men who tried to rob a local business and held up a pregnant clerk.
It happened Friday morning at Martino's Pizza and More shortly after the restaurant and store opened at 9 a.m.
Surveillance video shows clerk Irene Castro standing behind the cash register after the two men walk into Martino's. Minutes later, one of the suspects pointed a gun at Castro, jumped over the counter and attacked her.
"They smacked her around and busted her lip," Major Mark Rosser told Local 8 News. "They just told her it was a robbery, wanted to know where the money was, took her to the room and started to tie her up."
But as they tied her up, someone walked into the store and the two men ran out through the back door.
According to police, they left empty-handed.
"We actually talked to some state agents today that have connections with ICE that are going to get our pictures out and see if we can get some suspects. We're going and try to get these guys picked up," Rosser said.
