White supremacist banners removed from I-640

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville Police say they had to remove banners hanging from the Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge on I-640.

The call came in around 8:56 AM on Monday.

Officers say one vinyl banner with a white supremacist’s statement was facing east bound traffic, while another was facing west.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
