Cumberland, Ky. dad charged with shooting son

CUMBERLAND, Ky. (WYMT) - A Harlan County man is facing charges following a shooting Sunday in Cumberland.

Police say 55 year old Victor Boggs was arguing with his son, 20 year old Kevin Maggard just before 4pm at a home on Boggs Hollow Road.

We're told the argument escalated and Boggs opened fire, shooting Maggard in the foot.

Maggard was taken to Harlan ARH and then flown to Holston Valley Medical Center in Tennessee. We are told his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Boggs is charged with assault and is being held in the Harlan County Detention Center.
