Dancing Bear Lodge to close, sell property

TOWNSEND, Tenn. (WVLT) -- After a total loss fire at the Dancing Bear Lodge and Restaurant in November 2013, owners thought they might rebuild. In the meantime, the property has been operating solely as a cabin rental business.

But in a statement today, Dancing Bear Lodge announced they have turned the cabin rental business over to Dogwood Cabins and have listed the property for sale.

“After much consideration and due diligence, we have decided not to rebuild the lodge and restaurant,” said Matt Alexander, Managing Partner of Dancing Bear Lodge & Restaurant.

“Management of the property has been transitioned to Dogwood Cabins. We appreciate all our past guests patronage, and the local community for their outpouring of support and are grateful to have been a member of the Townsend business community for ten years,” he said.

Managers say reservations that were made through Dancing Bear Lodge & Restaurant will be honored.

For questions about reservations, contact Dogwood Cabins at 865-448-9054 or visit the website.
