Dandridge man charged with DUI after crash

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A Dandridge man is charged with DUI after troopers say he smashed his SUV into the back of a tractor trailer.

Tennessee Highway Patrol says Brian Smith, 48, hit the tractor trailer on Friday afternoon on I-81 near exit 69.

The trailer was carrying 44,000 pounds of mineral solution.

Two people, including Smith were injured.

Smith is also charged with reckless aggravated assault and failure to exercise due care.

No word on the extent of the injuries.
