KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The deadline to apply to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in the 2013-2014 academic year is just around the corner on Dec. 1.
The university said in a news release that the priority admissions deadline for consideration for competitive scholarships and the honors program has already passed.
Richard Bayer, assistant provost and director of enrollment services, said they are also looking for students that can demonstrate their ability to succeed at UT by showing a combination of grades and extracurricular activities, along with a personal statement and a letter of recommendation.
Students will be notified of their admission status no later than mid-March. Other important deadlines include Feb. 15, when applying for federal student aid, and May 1, when admitted students must submit a nonrefundable deposit.
