Weather Alert: Strong to severe storms are expected tonight

Deputies: man attacks ex-girlfriend after she refuses to make him Kool-Aid

ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT)- Anderson County Sheriff's Deputies say they arrested a man on Monday, after he attacked his ex-girlfriend for refusing to make him a drink.

The incident report says that Robert Atkins and another man came to the victim's home on Mooncrest Lane. Despite the victim asking Atkins to leave, he didn't.

A few hours later, the victim told investigators that Atkins asked her to make some Kool-Aid. She told Atkins no-- then claims he struck her in the face. The victim left the room and Atkins followed-- she claims Atkins then punched her.

Atkins laid down with the victim's child. After that the victim convinced Atkins she was going to a neighbor's house to get him a cigarette.

The victim then called 911. According to the report, when deputies went to the home, Atkins was gone and took the baby with him.

He was found a short time later and arrested.

Atkins faces multiple charges:
- Domestic Assault
- Violation of Order of Protection
- Aggravated Kidnapping
- Custodial Interference
