(CNN) — A shocking crime was caught on camera in New York. An animal shelter employee is accused of stuffing a living dog in a plastic bag and tossing it into a dumpster.
Police arrested 30-year-old Michael Papini, who has been arraigned on felony animal cruelty charges.
Town officials say Papini worked as a kennel cleaner at the Islip Town Animal Shelter. He has since been suspended without pay.
Police say a friend of Papini’s asked him to take the dog and her poodle to the shelter because she could no longer care for them.
