PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Dolly Parton was on hand as Dollywood opened for it's 28th season.
"Every year we seem to do better than we've done the year before, but it does not seem like the 28 years we were talking about. More like ten at the most, 10 or 12. But we're very happy that we've been successful at a dream we had a long time ago," said Parton.
Friday was a preview for season pass holders complete with performances and details about what will be new this year.
Saturday the park opens to the public.
