KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The driver of the car involved in a head on collision that killed two people earlier this month died on Friday, the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office announced on Thursday.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Kimberly Lynn Pointer car crossed over the median and into oncoming traffic, hitting an oncoming vehicle head-on. The wreck closed both directions of the road.
Both of her passengers, Delford Marlow, Sr., and Delford Marlow, Jr., were pronounced dead on the scene, while Pointer was flown via Lifestar to UT Medical Center. Two people in the other car were rushed to the hospital by Rural Metro. Their names have not been released yet.
The sheriff's office did note that their preliminary investigation indicated neither Marlow Sr. nor Jr. were wearing seatbelts, while Pointer was.
