KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One woman was killed after her car went off the side of Interstate 640 near The Hague early Tuesday morning. The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to UT Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, according to Knoxville Police spokesperson Darrell DeBusk.

Police have identified her as Jayla Shaekesh Moffett, 20, of Knoxville.

Preliminary reports indicate she was heading east when her Acura went off the road and struck a guardrail. After hitting the guardrail, the car went up an embankment and flipped over, ejecting the driver.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
