CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Animal control officials in Clarksville hope to find a woman who threw kittens and a Yorkshire terrier from a moving car in the shelter parking lot.

WSMV-TV reported the incident occurred Monday. Clarksville-Montgomery County Animal Control Director Karen Josephson said the car made a turn into the lot and the driver threw out a box containing seven kittens. While the car was still moving, Josephson said the driver then threw out the dog and kept going.

Josephson said one of the volunteers followed the car and got a license number. It was from Davidson County.

Meanwhile, shelter workers had arrived Monday morning to find two dogs sealed in a cardboard box with no food, water or air holes. The box bore a note that read, "Ate my chickens."
