KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- The East Tennessee Technology Access Center holds "Toy Tech 2012". It's a chance for children with special needs to get toys that are adapted just for them!
It was more than just a toy give-a-way it was a Christmas party complete with pizza, crafts, music, dancing, and the big guy himself Santa.
All the adapted toys were given to hundreds of disabled children in East Tennessee free of charge.
Lois Symington the ETTAC Director said "If a family wanted to buy a toy that was adapted; it would cost anywhere from $50 to $100 for just one toy and that adds up for families"
Lois also told us "It's more than just making sure kids get toys. It's helping kids with disabilities learn and be apart of a play group rather than being apart from."
This year was a huge success and they hope to have another big Toy Tech party next year!
