Early morning fire spreads through half of Pigeon Forge home

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Firefighters battled for hours to salvage what they could after a fire erupted in a home in Pigeon Forge early Monday morning.

According to the Pigeon Forge Fire Dept., half of the home on Timberlake Dr. was up in flames by the time they got there, shortly before 4:00 a.m. The fire had encompassed the area around the chimney and extended up into the attic.

Firefighters stayed on the scene until nearly 7:00 a.m. extinguishing hotspots and trying to salvage as much as possible from the home.

In addition to the Pigeon Forge Fire Dept., members of the Wadens Creek Fire Dept., Wears Valley Fire Dept., and Sevier Co. Fire Dept. were on hand to assist.
