East Knoxville home catches fire, no one inside

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Observant neighbors called firefighters around 3:20 Saturday morning to report a house fire in the 3200 block of Shields Avenue.

They told dispatchers that they could see heavy flames coming from the back of the two-story home.

When crews got there, they got the fire under control within 30 minutes. They monitored hot spots to prevent it from rekindling.

No one was found inside the building.

The cause is under investigation.
