East Tennessee soldier killed in Afghanistan

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Public Affairs Office reports a soldier from Oak Ridge has been killed.

The public affairs office says Staff Sgt. Christopher M. Ward of Oak Ridge was killed in Afghanistan. He was a member of the United States Army.

There will be a disgnified transfer of his body at Dover Air Force base Monday at 2:30 p.m.

No other information has been released at this time.
