KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- A local family welcomes a soldier back home.
He's a third generation military man whose been in Afghanistan for the past 8 months.
Amber Schultz says,
"It has its moments."
Saying goodbye is never easy. But this is Army wife Amber Schultz's favorite moment, as she waits to welcome her husband home.
Besider Amber, there's also 9 month-old Sarah.
Amber says,
"He has been able to see her over Skype and web chat with her."
She can't wait for little Sarah to reunite with her dad, Sam.
The last time he saw her, she was only 9 weeks old.
Amber says,
"It's rough when you see them learn something new and you can't share it with him."
And after anxiously waiting...he's finally here.
Sam gets to kiss his wife...
Amber says,
"I'm just very proud of him and happy to see him after so long."
And hold his daughter he's watched grow on the computer screen.
Private First Class Sam Schultz says,
"It's a wonderful feeling to get to see my family again. Just to see how big she's gotten is an amazing feeling to finally be back home."
Sam gets to spend two weeks at home.
He says he plans to kick back, relax and enjoy as much time as he can with his family.
