KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- FBI agents raided a payroll administration firm in west Knoxville early Thursday morning. According to a witness, around 20 agents stormed the Service Provider Group in Turkey Creek around 7:00 a.m.
Local 8 News learned that nearly 100 workers were asked to leave. Former employees said there was financial corruption at the company. Some said nearly 40% of the employees were fired last April, then rehired for those positions again.
Late Thursday afternoon, we saw FBI agents carrying boxes filled with files from the building. The FBI has not confirmed details of the investigation.
