PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Thousands of gospel music lovers are in Pigeon Forge this weekend for the Country Gospel Music FanFest at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center.

Nearly 300 country gospel artists will meet with an estimated 3,000 fans at the event.

Jesse Reece, 19, of Alabama, made the trip as he gets set to debut his new CD, Finding My Way. Reece is among well know artists and hopes to spread his message while he makes his career in music.

"but for me I also tell people I sing Chrontry music. And why I say that I sing Country and Christian but it's all clean and it kind of goes hand in hand with me," said Reece. "I'm really just promoting my music, telling my story right now. Trying to get my name out there at first."

Organizers say this is the fourth year for the FanFest.

"Here we have country gospel that they'll experience and really feel the spirit, the spirit of God. It's something that we love, of course it's a lot of work, but we do love what we do," said Randall Wilds with FanFest.

Reece is thankful for how far he's come and also plans to take this experience with him as he goes back home to promote his new CD set to be released in June.

"God's opened door after door for me and I've just sat back and watched the whole thing snowball I guess," said Reece.

He performs at 4:20 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Southern Gospel Music will take over the convention center on Monday.
