MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Police in McMinn County are investigating a fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer.
The wreck happened in Athens on I-75 at mile marker 50.
THP says the driver of the truck, Donald Barnes of Union City, was heading south when he drove off the highway and hit a tree head-on.
Barnes was found dead inside the truck when investigators arrived.
The Tennessee Highway Patrols says the truck wasn't hauling hazardous materials, but did become full engulfed in flames.
