MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Hamblen County Fire Marshall Eual Noah is leading an investigation of a house fire that left two families homeless Saturday night.
The Morristown Fire Department responded to the fire on Brights Pike around 12:15 a.m. Sunday. When they got there, a man and his children had escaped from one side of the duplex and a young couple the other, but their baby girl Briana Hidrogo was trapped inside.
Firefighters found the 10-month-old near a rear, second-story window of the duplex, which allowed the firefighters to get her out of the home.
The girl was pulled from the fire severely burned and died hours later after being flown to Doctors Hospital's Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia.
Her body has been brought back to UT Medical Center for an autopsy.
No word yet on what caused the fire.
