KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Firefighters were "relieved" to find a fire at Shamrock Organic on Friday only affected a single piece of equipment, said Knoxville Fire Dept. spokesperson D.J. Corcoran. The mulch facility was the scene of two other fires earlier this year, including one large one back in April.
The only thing catching fire Friday though was a tub grinder, which mulches wood. Firefighters have already extinguished the flames.
Back in April, a large mulch fire took firefighters days to put out. The debris burned for days, covering the surrounding area just outside of downtown Knoxville, in thick smoke.
Then in June, flames erupted around midnight at the facility on Ailor Avenue near Sutherland Avenue.
