LAKE CITY, Tennessee (WVLT) -- Firefighters responded to a house fire in Lake City at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to investigators on scene, the fire is believed to be arson. They found several suspicious items at the scene and are waiting until it is safe to enter the home to gather more information. They also report the fire could have been much worse because of the wooded area nearby.

Fire crews from Andersonville and Medford responded to the call.

Representatives with the Clinton Utility Board say power is safe for neighbors.
