ENGLISH MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The water is back on at English Mountain after being off for much of the weekend.
David Williams say the water has been off and on since Friday. Tuesday he was having to make a trip to the pool to get water to flush the toilets in his home.
"We don't have any water at all. The utility company has given us water but we have to go down and get it," said Williams. "Since May the 18th our water has worked a handful of days but you can't drink it, you can't wash your clothes with it."
According to East Sevier County Utility District, a pipe blew out about 3 a.m. and they made the repairs. By 1 p.m. the water was back on, but people wonder how long it'll be before it's off again.
Residents say the water being out is a constant problem and at nearly $100 a month for the service they want it fixed. The utility district blames miles old pipes that need to be replaced.
"We shouldn't have to do with out water paying that much. Either knock our water bill back down or keep us with water," said Mark Culbertson.
"We're just normal people trying to live a regular life in a beautiful spot. but the lack of water is making life very challenging," said Williams.
Residents hope the state will step in and take over the service.
