Former fire department Captain indicted

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a former Fentress County Fire Department volunteer on Thursday.

TBI started investigating 33 year-old Michael Edward Nicholas back in January, after the Fentress County School Board donated a truck to the Fentress County Fire Department. Nicholas was Captain at the time, and investigators say he registered the truck in his name.

Agents say Nicholas traded the truck to another person for his own personal gain. A grand jury indicted him on one count of Theft.

Nicholas turned himself in at the Fentress County Jail. He was given a bond of $5,000.
