Former firefighter faces prostitution charges

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A former Sevier County firefighter appeared in court Monday on prostitution charges.

Gregory Parton was picked up last week by police officers who accused him of patronizing a prostitute.

Parton became a full-time firefighter with the Sevierville Fire Department in March of 2007. He resigned on June 12, 2013.

Parton's next court date is set for August 5th.
